| About Me I was born on April 16, 2006. I am a male Seal Point Himalayan Persian cat who owns Lee & Sharifeh Van Court, in Plano, Texas. I have a CFA registered pedigree, with champion parentage on both sides, but I was bought "just" to be a pet. Note: The Cat Fancier's Association (CFA), is by far the largest registrar of cats in the world. The word "Himalayan" does not exist as a breed of cat according to the CFA, but rather as a color of Persian cat. In some parts of the world, they are simply called colo(u)rpoints, (as are Siamese), so rather than saying a Himalayan Persian you would say a colo(u)rpoint Persian. Colors are broken down even further according to their colored points (feet, tail, ears, eyes), the most popular being the Seal Point, whose coloring resembles that of a seal. These colored points were derived from the Siamese cat but everything EXCEPT the color points were bred back out and only the true Persian characteristics were maintained. Adding to the confusion is that Persians are sometimes simply called longhairs. Himalayans are not however, a long haired Siamese cat, just as the Himalayan Mountains have nothing to do with where these cats were developed. I therefore remain yours, PERSI THE PERSIAN CAT! |
